Scorched Earth Has New Owner
Scorched Earth Brewing Co announces new ownership. Michael and Jennifer Dallas of Crystal Lake began Scorched Earth Brewing Co in 2013, with the Algonquin tap room opening in 2014. Since then, the brewery has expanded it’s tap room twice, added two beer gardens, and grown distribution throughout the Chicagoland area. “We want to thank our employees, customers, and the community for the tremendous support they have shown since our inception”, quoted the Dallas’, “we have enjoyed meeting so many new people and bringing people together through craft beer in our community. It has been an awesome journey.”
Once the decision was made to sell the business, the Dallas’ felt it was important to find a buyer who would carry on the Scorched Earth brand, work with existing employees, and have interest in continuing to grow the company. Greg Doyen is that person. Greg is a resident of Lake County and grew up in McHenry County. He has been looking for the right opportunity to build on his entrepreneurial interests, and felt that Scorched Earth Brewing Co, with its brand, employees, beer and everything the Dallas’s have built was the perfect match. He is excited to mix his previous experience in business strategy with a passion for craft beer to help serve the community, employees, and business partnerships.
“We are excited for the next phase of Scorched Earth, and confident that Greg will be able to seamlessly transition into the business and take things to the next level”, said the Dallas’. Next time you come in to the tap room, be sure to say hello and ask for Greg!
