Fare Trader, a sessionable English Brown Ale, showcases toasty, toffee, and caramel notes contributed by its English malt bill and a Fall seasonal ingredient -- wild rice. The rice is from Minnesota, one of the few areas in the U.S that grows wild rice. It was cultivated and harvested by the only American Indian Tribe in the U.S. that does this, the Red Lake Nation, a band of the Chippewa Indians. Throughout the tribe’s history, the wild rice has been used to barter with traders, hunt for fowl, and served at harvest thanksgiving meals. The beer is noble hopped and fermented in our open fermenter. “Mii-gwech” means “Thank You!”
