In collaboration with the team from Chas. Herdrich & Sons – our McHenry County distribution partners – we created this unique English – American hybrid beer. The red ale is malty, getting much of it’s bready and caramelly influence from English and other European malts, along with a touch of Victory. As for the hop bill, rather than throwing in the traditional English hops, we sought an American influence with some English flare, focusing primarily on Simcoe and Idaho 7 hops, with an early addition of Centennial. The hops provide a highly complex array of aromas and flavor, and pleasant bitterness, largely delivering dank, balsam fir and black tea [insert English flare] notes. You might also find some apricot, grapefruit, papaya, lime and more. Cheers!
