This Schwarzbier, which translates from German to literally mean "black beer," is a German dark lager that became widely popular after the reunification of Germany in the 90s. Traditionally this beer is a light bodied dark beer with roasty malty notes that are well balanced by a bit of hop bitterness. Our Schwarzbier features Munich, Pilsner, Chocolate, and Roasted Barley malts along with Hallertauer Mittelfruh hops. With a flavor profile well-balanced between sweet bready maltiness with a hint of dark caramel, and a smooth roasty character akin to dark bittersweet chocolate and coffee. As you sip on this beer while it warms, hints of dark fruit come out of the background. It finishes dry with a mild but clean bitterness.
